The Swing Cell consists of two plastic blocks attached with a hinge. Large plastic pegs are inserted into holes in the blocks to form jumbo Braille.

This tool helps students understand the relationship between dots in a standard braille cell and the keys on a Braille-writer. In the closed position, the pegs represent the dots in a braille cell. In the open position, the pegs represent the keys on a Braille-writer (which correspond to each of the braille dots).

This dual functionality allows learners to seamlessly transition between "typing" and "reading" Braille, providing hands-on practice before transitioning to the real deal. Whether your student is learning to use the Braille-writer or mastering Braille Screen Input on the iPhone, the Swing Cell offers ample opportunities for Tactile practice and reinforcing muscle memory.

Packed into a drawstring cloth pouch, this compact Braille learning tool and its pegs are easy to bring between home and school. When closed, it measures 4 by 3 by 1.5 inches, and features pegs three quarters of an inch in diameter. Learners with low vision will also appreciate the color contrast - black blocks with white pegs.
