Does your organization have blind clients who could benefit from reading your brochures, forms, or info packets in Braille? Have you ever wished you could hand the blind customer who just walked into your restaurant a Braille menu that he or she could actually read independently? Or how would you like to surprise your friend or loved-one with a personalized Braille letter? Well, wish and wonder no longer; we're here to help - getting documents translated into Braille is now easier than you might think.
In a hurry to receive your Braille materials? No problem - after all, who isn't under some sort of deadline these days. We have a 24-hour turn-around guarantee for all Brailling jobs, which means we can have your newly-Brailled documents transcribed, Brailled, bound, and shipped within a day of receiving your order. Often, we can even ship your materials the same working day! And yes, priority shipping is available; please ask us for faster delivery options and pricing details when placing your order.
Here's how our Braille transcription service works:
First, simply send an Email to production@braillebookstore.com, and indicate how many copies of the document you need Brailled. Then, just attach your document and hit Send. (Please note that we only accept the following file types .docx, .doc, .pdf, .rtf, .txt, .brf. In addition, we cannot work from printed hard-copies - an electronic file must be supplied.) If you need your Braille documents urgently, please kindly also include your phone number in the Email message, so we can finalize the order and ship your box as quickly as possible.
Once we have received and reviewed your document, you will be contacted via Email with a price quote. The message will direct you to call our office to take care of the billing and shipping info - assuming you wish to proceed with your Braille printing request, that is. Once the order is finalized, we'll immediately get right to work on your Braille job.
Next, one of our competent Braille transcriptionists will translate your text into Braille, paying careful attention to formatting (using centered titles, blank lines, page numbers, dashes in the margin, and a table of contents where required) to make it a breeze to quickly flip through the finished Braille copy. Furthermore, the document will be laid out start-to-finish by a totally-blind individual, which ensures that your customers will have just as easy a time navigating and using the material as our Braille-reading employees.
The final step is the Braille printing and binding process. Here at the Braille Superstore, we utilize six high-speed, commercial-grade Braille embossers with a combined Brailling power of 600 characters per second. (For high-volume jobs, we may also call in the services of our 400-pound, state-of-the-art Braille printing press to ensure your work is completed on-time and on-budget.) The Braille pages are then separated and bound using the spiral-binding system that is the norm for all high-quality Braille books.
One more thing. If you have little or no knowledge of Braille, we're happy to take care of your Braille production requirements from beginning to end - choosing all the standard methods and options - without boring you with all the details or asking you to make decisions you don't fully understand. But if you're a little more Braille-savvy, we're happy to give you complete control over how your Braille transcription proceeds, and can accommodate a whole myriad of custom requests, such as: producing interpoint or single-sided Braille, single- or double-spaced; allowing you to choose size of paper stock; specifying whether you want the materials 19-hole punched, 3-hole punched, or unpunched; supplying the documents unbound, stapled, or spiral-bound; even have us use your very own pre-printed full-color covers for a more visually appealing product.
If you have any questions, or wish to send us a document to braille, please E-mail production@braillebookstore.com, or give us a ring at 1-800-987-1231.
We look forward to meeting all your Brailling needs! Our prices are more than reasonable, we're quick and reliable ... But best of all, we never cut any corners for any Braille transcription job - whether large or small.
